Downtown Pontiac Renews it's National Main Street Accreditation

It was announced on Wednesday, March 12, that the Pontiac Downtown Business Association (PDBA) and Downtown Pontiac received their National Main Street Accreditation once again.
Glen Konopaskie and the PDBA Leadership team reported that after a seven hour meeting with Main Street Oakland County that Main Street accreditation was granted to Downtown Pontiac. He was very proud to announce that the PDBA has maintained their National standing for Pontiac another year.
He wanted to give a thank you to the Board of Directors, the nine committees and their volunteers for being so giving and dedicated to the rebuilding of the downtown! He also says "Thank you to the City Mayor, City Council and City management for their participation!" Mayor Waterman participated in the accredidation process in the early morning.

Later this spring Michigan has a unique opportunity in hosting the National Main Street Program as part of the National Historic Trust for their annual conferenc occurring in Detroit. During the conference site tours will be happening in several downtown's showing off what can be done to a downtown. Pontiac is proud to be on the site tour list to show off not only the State but the City's Main Street assets at a national level.
