Grizz Night in Pontiac

This night out in Pontiac will serve as a way for students to experience all Pontiac has to offer right in OU’s backyard. We want to show them all of Pontiac’s opportunities, culture, food, and fun! Activities of the night will include live entertainment from OU and Pontiac, some make and take activities, family fun, opportunities to discover local history and great food, local employment and internship opportunities, and so much more! We want this to spur economic activity in the downtown to support Pontiac’s growth and revitalization

The inaugural Grizz Night to welcome Oakland University students to downtown Pontiac is Wednesday, April 13 from 6-10 PM. The event is planned by Oakland University students and Staff, City of Pontiac officials and downtown businesses. Oakland University "Grizz Night in Downtown Pontiac" is part of OU's "welcome" informational for OU students.

You will find Grizz Night on social media as #GrizzNight and #OUPontiac along with #DowntownPontiac. #OUPontiac is part of the long term collaboration between the community of Pontiac and Oakland University to align common missions each has individually to work together. The OU/Pontiac Initiative has several sub-committees, events and project targeted throughout different impact zones, and the Grizz Night out event is one such program. BUSINESSES INTERESTED IN PARTICIPATING

Any business that believes it has something to offer to a university student to encourage his/her return to their business is invited to keep open its doors that night and welcome the students to our downtown. As mentioned it is the 1st of a planned annual event and Downtown Pontiac's local businesses are encouraged to welcome the additional foot traffic. This will be a truly welcoming event to downtown. Promotional opportunities do exist for businesses who have coupons or gift cards to offer this year's event. Please contact Phil Wojtowicz, President Pontiac Downtown Business Association to coordinate.
