It Starts With The Call - Call For Artists

Call For Artists
Each year the call for artists goes out to the community at large in early February. Entrants are asked to submit art via the Canvas Pontiac website. This allows entrants to submit locally as well as far and wide. Each year the radius of our entrants continues to increase in distance as well as in local entrants.
The program runs through separate contests to help promote the call as well as the program itself. Typical promotional channels exist such as mainstream press releases and social media to help communicate the call for artists.
Additionally, however, the program has a built-in mechanism to excite entrants. If entrants aren’t quite ready to submit for a large scale canvas, they can also submit art to the poster or t-shirt contest. Smaller in scale, these two contests help excite artists, as well as allow us to distribute posters and t-shirts to spread the word.
