Pontiac Prepares to Light the Tree of Hope and Welcome Holiday Extravaganza
Time to kick off the holidays in Pontiac. Every year, the community in Pontiac rings in the Holiday season the first weekend in December by lighting the Tree of Hope the Friday evening before the Holiday Extravaganza.
The tree has historical significance as it is in honor and remembrance of Judge Anderson, one of the former judges at the 50th District Court House in which the tree resides. Following the lighting we continue the festivities by enjoying several of our youth choirs.
The City of Pontiac, Main Street Pontiac, and Pontiac Downtown Business Association invite you to join us in ringing in the holidays this Friday, December 1st for the Tree Lighting. The festivities will begin at 6:00 pm in front of the 50th District Court House followed by the voices of our community youth singing at First Presbyterian Church starting at 7:00 pm, all located in Downtown Pontiac.
Thanks to our Lighting Sponsors:
Anderson Family for donating the Tree of Hope to the community of Pontiac
McLaren Oakland for sponsoring the Tree Lighting Event
After the lighting, come back to downtown Pontiac on Saturday, December 2nd for Holiday Extravaganza! For more details, visit http://www.holidayextravaganza.org/.
